Chemex and Hario coffee drippers produce an extraordinary cup of coffee. Now an option at our coffee bar.
Bird Rock is a local roaster, which has all the trappings of a top notch cafe. They own a La Marzocco GB/5, offer multiple coffees with brew to order options on a V60 pour over bar, serve only freshly roasted coffee, have several high marks from Coffee Review, and appear to be sourcing some pretty good green coffee.
The other day I saw another roaster post something on their Facebook about their new “direct trade” coffee from Ethiopia. I knew this was not what we – or many other roasters that source at origin — would call “Direct Trade.”
The marriage of coffee and beer is a natural result of industries with similar values collaborating to create something unique and tasty.
We’ve been recounting our direct trade coffee sourcing trips on our blog as well as in social media. Barista Magazine caught wind of what we were doing and asked if we would write an article for their magazine. The article turned into a two part series that you can enjoy right now.
