Description

This organic washed coffee comes from Asobombo Inza, a collective of small producers in Colombia's mountainous Cauca region, known for its volcanoes. Grown at altitudes between 1600-2200 masl, it features the Caturra, Colombia, and Castillo varieties.

The Asobombo cooperative consists of 80 producers, including 12 women, who cultivate coffee on an average of 217 hectares. The region’s mineral-rich soil makes it ideal for high-quality coffee.

The cooperative formed out of a shared need to find a market, after years of refining their agricultural practices. Their decision to pursue organic certification stemmed from a deep respect for traditional, sustainable farming methods passed down from their ancestors. The producers are dedicated to environmentally responsible practices, believing that coffee is a food that should be grown with care.

One of the cooperative's primary goals is to help farmers restore their soils and reinvest their earnings into improving both crop quality and living conditions. By committing to sustainable agriculture, they are working toward their dream of producing premium coffee while enhancing the livelihoods of their members.
