At Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, we believe coffee connects communities and empowers change. We're proud to continue our partnership with Friends of Los Niños, a non-profit dedicated to supporting orphaned, abandoned, and vulnerable children in Baja, Mexico, through our Coffee for a Cause initiative.

What’s New in 2025

• Friends of Los Niños is now sponsoring 3 children who require higher-level therapy, alongside one university student.

• Looking ahead, they have committed to sponsoring 4 additional university students for the coming year — opening higher education opportunities for more deserving youth.

• Their monthly food program continues uninterrupted, serving four orphanages each month.

• They've provided school uniforms to three orphanages, helping ensure children arrive at school ready and confident.

These enhanced efforts reflect their growing commitment to holistic care — from daily necessities like food and uniforms to therapy and access to university education.

Their Ongoing Impact

  • Therapy-Level Sponsorships: 3 children in need of intensive therapeutic support.

At Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, we believe that coffee has the power to connect communities and create lasting change. We are thrilled to announce our 2nd partnership with Friends of Los Niños, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support for orphaned and abandoned children in Baja, Mexico. This collaboration is part of our Coffee for a Cause initiative.

Friends of Los Niños focuses on providing shelter, education, and holistic care to children who need it most. Their work is essential to helping these young individuals thrive, and we’re excited to join forces with them not only to provide financial support but also to raise awareness about the challenges these children face every day. We hope to inspire others to get involved and make a difference by purchasing this blend or donating directly to the organization.

To celebrate this partnership, we’ve created a special coffee blend with a label that’s as meaningful as the cause itself. We worked with the Nonprofit and children from the orphanages, asking them to draw anything they liked. And to our surprise, some of the kids submitted beautiful interpretations of coffee farmers picking cherries, capturing the heart of the coffee-growing process. Our talented graphic designer, Will, then pulled elements from their drawings to create a unique, heartwarming label that brings this partnership to life. This label isn’t just artwork—it’s a story of collaboration, creativity, and community.

Our partnership with Friends of Los Niños is especially significant during Latinx Heritage Month, which runs from September 15 to October 15. This month is a time to honor the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of people who trace their roots to Latin America, Spain, Mexico, and the Caribbean. It’s also a reminder of how deeply connected Bird Rock Coffee Roasters is to the Latinx community, as many of our coffee beans are sourced from Latin America.

By collaborating with Friends of Los Niños during Latinx Heritage Month, we’re not just celebrating cultural heritage—we’re directly contributing to the future of Latin American communities by supporting the children who will one day carry that heritage forward. This partnership is a reflection of Bird Rock’s commitment to making a difference beyond coffee by giving back to the people and places that make our coffee possible.

Through Coffee for a Cause, we invite our customers to join us in supporting Friends of Los Niños. Every purchase helps raise awareness and funds for the important work they do. In 2023 FOLN continued their monthly food program for four orphanages, supplied two orphanages with school uniforms, four education sponsorships for grade school children. In 2024, they have already started a sponsorship for a University student. This is the first university-level sponsorship and we are excited to see what more they do.  Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these children!
