Bird Rock Coffee Roasters is excited to announce that we are participating in the 2022 Padres Pedal the Cause at Petco Park event on April 9th. Together we have the opportunity to help raise funds to accelerate cures for cancer right here in San Diego. 
 

WHAT IS PADRES PEDAL THE CAUSE?

Padres Pedal the Cause is Curebound's signature event, bringing together thousands of participants each year to raise money for collaborative cancer research. Hosted in partnership with the San Diego Padres, "Pedal" is San Diego's most impactful fundraising experience, with over $15 million raised to date to fund 78 innovative research grants in all types of cancer.
You will be inspired by the energy and passion of the Pedal community, made up of survivors, families & friends, doctors, scientists, children and volunteers – all of whom are determined to see cures in our lifetime.
100% of every dollar raised funds life-saving cancer research.
 

What is Team Bird Rock Coffee?

Over the years, we have helped raise funds by having give-back days at each cafe or donating coffee for the event. However, this year we wanted to do more! So we decided to create Team Bird Rock and encourage staff and customers to join us in the fight! Together we have the opportunity to make a BIG impact, and we're excited to see it through! 
 
Padres Pedal has created fun ways for individuals and the whole family to get involved, from outdoor cycling, spin classes, a downtown 5k, and kids course! 
 

Here are the different ways you can get involved:

  • Cycling: Padres Pedal the Cause is bringing back their four most popular courses to choose from: 25, 55, 88 or 100 miles; all routes go over the Coronado Bridge and finish on the field.
  • New Rooftop Spin Experience: Rooftop spinning atop the iconic Western Metal Supply Building with a breathtaking view of downtown San Diego and Petco Park.  It will be an inspiring and unforgettable experience! 
  • New Downtown 5K: Run/walk the newly revamped 5K through downtown San Diego with the same big finish at Petco Park. 
  • Celebration in Gallagher Square: Join teammates, friends and family in Gallagher Square for a celebration of community and commitment to a world without cancer. 

A few things to keep in mind as you register: 

  • We are participating on April 9, 2022 as Team Bird Rock: Check out Bird Rockers' team fundraising page for Curebound and select “Join Team” on the left hand side
  • Promo Code: Use the promo code BIRDROCK to receive $50 off of the registration fee as a thank you from Team Bird Rock
  • Fundraising commitments are BACK: Choose your participation option along with its corresponding fundraising commitment and kickstart fundraising OR go above and beyond by electing to become a Top Fundraiser. 
  • Share your “Why”: Update your fundraising profile! Sharing the “why” behind your participation is a great way to encourage friends/family to donate/register. Once you complete your registration you will receive an email with instructions to set up your profile.
