Women's History Month 2026
Celebrating Women’s History Month 2026
March gives us the opportunity to intentionally celebrate the women who shape our industry and our community. From the producers we partner with to the leaders on our own team, women play a vital role in every part of Bird Rock Coffee Roasters.
We are proud to work with women producers and women-led cooperatives throughout the year, and to be supported by a team of more than 85 women and women-identifying employees, many serving in leadership roles. Their talent, drive, and collaboration are part of what makes our community so strong.
This year, we are featuring three women-produced coffees:
With every bag of these Women’s History Month coffees sold, $1 will be donated to The Letter Project.
Our Partnership with The Letter Project
The Letter Project is a female-run nonprofit dedicated to empowering girls and women through handwritten letters of encouragement. Built on the belief that women thrive when they support one another, the organization connects volunteer writers with women around the world who need reminders that they are seen, valued, and not alone.
In the past year alone, thousands of letters have been distributed globally, reaching women across more than 100 countries. The impact is simple but powerful: connection, affirmation, and community.
This is our second year partnering with The Letter Project. Thanks to your support last year, we raised $899, helping fund several months of shipping and materials for their letter bundles. We are honored to continue supporting their work.
“Our message is simple: we believe in you. We believe in the power of women supporting one another. We are rooting for you from all around the world.”

Women in Coffee
Women have long contributed to every stage of coffee production, from farming and harvesting to processing and quality control. Historically, many have faced barriers to land ownership, income access, and leadership opportunities. Today, women producers and leaders around the world are reshaping that narrative through entrepreneurship, innovation, and community-driven change.
Peru Orígenes Women’s Group
Formed in 2024, the Women Producers Group of Orígenes was created to strengthen women’s leadership and visibility within their cooperative. Through collaboration and shared learning, the group refined a double-fermentation washed process that enhances sweetness and structure while preserving clarity of origin. Their work reflects both technical growth and greater economic opportunity for women within the cooperative.

Rebuild Women’s Hope
On Idjwi Island in Lake Kivu, coffee is a primary source of income, yet women were historically excluded from controlling that income. In 2013, Marcelline Budza founded Rebuild Women’s Hope to place women at the center of economic development.
Today, the cooperative supports thousands of women producers, operates multiple washing stations, and invests in community infrastructure including clean water systems and a maternal and pediatric hospital. This Chasi AA lot represents not only quality craftsmanship but expanded opportunity and long-term impact.
Loma La Gloria Red Honey
Anny Ruth Pimentel
Anny Ruth Pimentel represents the next generation of leadership in coffee. After taking over her family’s farm in El Salvador in 2012, she focused on elevating quality and improving traceability by operating the farm’s own mill. Growing Pacamara and Bourbon varieties on the slopes of the Quezaltepec Volcano, Anny continues to build on her family’s legacy while forging her own path in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
