Latinx Heritage X Friends of Los Niños

Partnership with Friends of Los Niños

Friends of Los Niños, a nonprofit organization rooted in the belief that every child deserves a safe and nurturing environment to grow, learn, and thrive, has found a compassionate ally in Bird Rock Coffee Roasters. Located in Baja Mexico, their mission centers on providing shelter, nourishment, education, and holistic development for orphaned or abandoned children, resonates deeply with Bird Rock Coffee Roasters' commitment to making a positive impact. Through this collaboration, Bird Rock Coffee Roasters aims not only to support the cause financially but also to raise awareness about the challenges faced by these children.

About Latinx

Latinx Heritage Month provides the perfect backdrop for this partnership. Latinx is a gender-inclusive term that emerged as an alternative to the traditional gender-specific terms "Latino" and "Latina." It encompasses people of Latin American descent and is used to refer to individuals regardless of their gender identity. The term acknowledges the diversity within the Latin American community and aims to be more inclusive of non-binary and gender non-conforming individuals. It serves as a way to recognize and respect the various gender identities and expressions present in the Latin American and Hispanic community.
